Release notes
Life Fiber: rollback netcode and enhancements for KILL la KILL -IF. Both players always need the same version to play.
Updates
- Release notes can be viewed in Settings > About > What's new.
Updates
- Test release for the updater.
Initial release.
Rollback netplay
- Rollback netcode implemented.
- Netplay Match UI displays ping, jitter, opponent's average FPS and a wi-fi/wired connection indicator.
- New post-match menu for netplay that offers instant rematch.
Quick Match
- Life Fiber joins players with the same game content into a ACPR style lobby. This means the mod can sort players who are playing on modded game content into the same room, apart from vanilla players.
- Input delay is suggested when sending or accepting a challenge based on the current ping.
- Story mode forms are disabled when in Quick Match on vanilla content but allowed in modded rooms.
Direct Match
- Generate a 6-letter code to share with a friend and play privately. Others with the code can spectate your matches.
Spectating
- Spectating implemented! Press Start+Select during spectating to go to the previous/next/current match in the session.
- Spectating is enabled for up to 8 guests for any online match, be it Direct or the Quick Match lobby.
Content mods
- Content mod loading added. To install mods without modifying the base game, create a folder called
Modsin the game's directory and place mods inside sub-folders. The structure of these sub-folders must match the game's ownResourceWindirectory, but only the files/folders that change from the base game are needed. - Netplay is aware of mods that change game content vs. cosmetic only, and allows players with differing cosmetic mods to play together.
- Go to Settings > Mods to choose content to load.
- Replays created while using mods are sent to a new
Mods-Replaysfolder that is used to load replays for modded games. This keeps vanilla and modded replays separate.
Settings
- A new Options menu has been implemented with more settings not available in the original game.
- Controller mapping in the Options menu has been overhauled. Actions can now be bound to triggers.
- Text language independent of Steam's, and a choice of audio output device.
Graphics
- A major bug in the game's graphics rendering has been fixed. This fixes slowdown on AMD devices and improves performance significantly overall.
- The game now renders 3D graphics relative to the native resolution. This improves performance for smaller screen devices.
- Render scale has been added, allowing 3D graphics to be rendered from 50% up to 200% of the chosen resolution. Higher values enable supersampling.
- The game will auto-detect settings at first boot and the Graphics menu will suggest optimal settings based on your hardware.
- Image scaling when the window is resized has been improved.
- Frame pacing issues on high refresh rate monitors have been corrected.
- A low latency present mode is available for Windows 10 or above. This primarily reduces input lag in Borderless Fullscreen mode, matching exclusive fullscreen in testing.
Unlocks
- Versus, Practice and Gallery modes are unlocked by default.
- All characters are unlocked by default.
- All colors are unlocked by default including the Pre-order Special Colors from console.
- The story-only forms of Ryuko, Satsuki, Ragyo and Nui are availabe in all offline modes and in online play using Direct Match. Modded content enables them in Quick Match.
- Two story-only stages have been enabled in all modes.
- Ranked/Player matches are locked while mod content is loaded to prevent cheating/desyncs.
Fixes
- Bloody Valor no longer soft-locks when a super is activated right as the "Overpowered" scene ends.
- Keyboard bindings are no longer overwritten during Bloody Valor or at round start. The mod draws overlay graphics during Bloody Valor to stand in for missing key textures.
- Stage select: Round / Wide corrected for Naturals Election Stadium and Thread Palace, borrowed from the Restitched mod.
- The launcher and boot logos are skipped, which also fixes the game getting stuck on Steam Deck Game Mode.
